When installing the Rotary drum screen, we generally choose a well-ventilated
screen room and configure it for installation and hoisting. The advantage of
this is that it can better protect the power equipment of the Rotary Drum
Screen, and it is convenient for equipment maintenance.
During the installation process, there are some knowledge points that we tend to ignore:
1. The channel in front of the screen should maintain a straight pipe section of more than 5m, the speed of water flow in the channel is 0.4-0.9m/s, and the speed of flowing through the grid is 0.6-1.0m/s.
2. The connection between the channel where the Screen is placed and the channel in front of the grid should have an opening angle less than 20°.
3. The installation angle of the screen is 45°~60° for manual slag cleaning, and 70°~90° for mechanical slag cleaning.
4. The water head loss passing through the screen is generally 0.08-0.15m. Therefore, the channel behind the gate is correspondingly lower than that before the gate by 0.08-0.15m.
5. The effective water passage area of the screen is calculated according to the design flow rate of 0.6-1.0m/s through the grid, but the total width of the screen is not less than 1.2 times the width of the inlet pipe.
6. The grid top working platform must be set on the upper part of the screen, and its height is more than 0.5m higher than the design water level in front of the grid. Safety facilities such as railings and washing facilities shall be provided on the workbench. The platform aisles on both sides shall not be less than 0.7m, and the width of the front aisle shall not be less than 1.2m during manual slag removal and 1.5m during mechanical slag removal.
